Last night I had one of the best classes in a long time. We arrived in Vina del Mar, Chile on the 2nd Nov’ and were amazed how different this place feels from Mexico City. The energy and atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. Of course Vina is a lot smaller and being close to the Pacific (or any ocean for that matter) changes everything and I can almost feel my circadian rhythms falling gently into place again.
Anyway I’m off to check out one of Vina del Mar’s lovely beaches but here’s an update from TT Fall 09.
TT End of Week 3: Yoyo
The weeks go by so fast…. the weird thing is that as I look back from one end of the week to the next I seem to be a different person each time. And all that came in between can be best summed up by the word ‘yoyo’. The euphoric happiness of being here does of course wear off and as I sit at the end of week three a few realisations form:
1. This is very hard work but not in the way I thought it would be
2. Managing myself through the nine weeks will be one of the biggest challenges ever – and so important because it’s not just about me, it’s about how I relate to all the other TTs around me
3. Friendships start to strengthen to help me with the experience
4. Everything is temporary, whether it’s my joy at kicking the best standing bow I’ve ever done, or my misery later that day as my body and mind fight against ever having to do another Asana!
There have been some great highlights this week.
Emmy: her passion, tenacity and straightforward attitude. Her mantra of “Consistency, precision and intensity” are now fully fixed in my brain and my right foot will never be in balancing stick again without the muscle memory of being pulled by her!
David from Dallas: hearing such brilliant dialogue delivered with such a cute twang was just great:)
Lynn: I continue to find her classes an inspiration and something to work towards in terms of the kind of teacher I would like to be. When she says ‘PUSH’ I want to push!
Thanks so much Matt for the story on TT 09. Its is such an amazing experience I shared with Bikram and the family! I hold great gratitude for the changes and growth I found on that mat as Bikram continuously spoke his dialogue over over over again thats passion & purpose
Namaste Everyone
