As fate would have it, Bikram Yoga Barcelona closed its doors for maintenance 13 – 16 August. Smack bang in the middle of my 30 day challenge… nice!
I was informed a little late (mid July) to change location. My sister, Heidi and I, planned a rendezvous way back in January and with our Barcelona apartment booked and paid for, scouting out another location for the month wasn’t an option. I looked into practicing at another Spanish studio from Thursday – Sunday. Bikram Yoga Madrid: closed. Bikram Yoga Ibiza: closed Saturday. Bikram Yoga Marseilles, France (next closest): also closed, although Corinne (owner/teacher) kindly said I could join her and the other teachers for practice. Unfortunately it wasn’t in my budget.
Things were looking a little grim when Charlie (Bikram teacher at Barcelona) offered to teach, with Jess and Todd (fellow yogis) offering up their apartment as our location. Sorted! So Charlie, Jess, Todd, Veronika and I got down and sweaty, heating up the living room and practicing in the hottest part of the day to get the conditions close to ideal. It was pretty cool actually: hard tiled floor, no mirrors, Charlie delivering dialogue through his practice and the longest, peaceful, final savasanas I’ve had.
Perfect. Thanks guys!
Sounds pretty cool dude! I’m happy that you didn’t have to come to a break because of outer circumstabces! Great peaople everywere in the bikram world ey?

Sending some virtual energy to you bro’!!!
